About Us

Susan and Gillian were born in Kingaroy to Geoffrey and Mary Hall who migrated to Australia immediately after WWII.

At the end of WWII Geoffrey Stephen Hall chose to be demobbed to Australia and his wife followed him some months later with their baby son. The baby, Peter, was born with multiple problems and he contracted pneumonia on the voyage. He died the day the ship docked in Melbourne. Mary's first act in her new country was to bury her son.

She and Geoffrey went to Brisbane and set about looking for work. Mary, a pharmacist, found work at the Redmond Pharmacy in Kingaroy, and the couple moved there. Geoffrey found work as a technician on the local radio station.

Susan was born at Kingaroy in 1949, and Gillian followed 14 months later in 1950.
